چکیده

We describe a consensus-type algorithm for determining all the maximal complete bipartite (not necessarily induced) subgraphs of a graph. We show that by imposing a particular order in which the consensus type operations should be executed, this algorithm becomes totally polynomial. By imposing a further restriction on the way the algorithm has to be executed, we derive an improved variant of it, the complexity of which is bounded by a polynomial which is cubic in the input size, and only linear in the output size, and show its high efficiency on numerous computational experiments on randomly generated graphs with up to 1000 vertices and 6000 edges. A Change-Sensitive Algorithm for Maintaining Maximal Bicliques in a Dynamic Bipartite Graph

We consider the maintenance of maximal bicliques from a dynamic bipartite graph that changes over time due to the addition or deletion of edges. When the set of edges in a graph changes, we are interested in knowing the change in the set of maximal bicliques (the “change”), rather than in knowing the set of maximal bicliques that remain unaffected. The challenge in an efficient algorithm is to ...

Maximal Quasi-Bicliques with Balanced Noise Tolerance: Concepts and Co-clustering Applications

The rigid all-versus-all adjacency required by a maximal biclique for its two vertex sets is extremely vulnerable to missing data. In the past, several types of quasi-bicliques have been proposed to tackle this problem, however their noise tolerance is usually unbalanced and can be very skewed. In this paper, we improve the noise tolerance of maximal quasi-bicliques by allowing every vertex to ...

Efficient Mining of Large Maximal Bicliques

Many real world applications rely on the discovery of maximal biclique subgraphs (complete bipartite subgraphs). However, existing algorithms for enumerating maximal bicliques are not very efficient in practice. In this paper, we propose an efficient algorithm to mine large maximal biclique subgraphs from undirected graphs. Our algorithm uses a divide-and-conquer approach. It effectively uses t...

Incremental Maintenance of Maximal Bicliques in a Dynamic Bipartite Graph

We consider incremental maintenance of maximal bicliques from a dynamic bipartite graph that changes over time due to the addition of edges. When new edges are added to the graph, we seek to enumerate the change in the set of maximal bicliques, without enumerating the set of maximal bicliques that remain unaffected. The challenge in an efficient algorithm is to enumerate the change without expl...

New algorithms for $k$-degenerate graphs

A graph is k-degenerate if any induced subgraph has a vertex of degree at most k. In this paper we prove new algorithms finding cliques and similar structures in these graphs. We design linear time Fixed-Parameter Tractable algorithms for induced and non induced bicliques. We prove an algorithm listing all maximal bicliques in time O(k(n−k)2), improving the result of [D. Eppstein, Arboricity an...
